Healing from Trauma
What I can do and how I can heal.
Trauma can happen at any time and to anyone. Everyone responds differently. Some people do behaviors that they never thought they would do. Including be promiscuous, engaging in risky behaviors, start using more substances. You can also become more withdrawn, not be eating or taking care of yourself or not participate in your favorite activities. Sometimes you do these behaviors subconsciously and struggle to make sense. They sometimes feel a sense of remorse and want to understand why they are doing this behaviors, knowingly this is not me
So what can you do. First off recognizing the behaviors you are doing are not you is first priority. Gaining an understanding on how you can stop the behaviors you want to stop and learn what you can do is a close second. This takes times and everyone does things differently.
First off Recognize your resources. There is a multiple of resources online. This can include websites, books, therapy blogs, and webinars. Listening to Experts, this can include nationally known therapist, they sometimes have YouTube videos, or Instagram Pages or a local therapist that you can reach out and talk to.
Ultimately understanding you do not have to face the healing by yourself make sure you do your research and look for resources.
