Whats in a name?
So, what is in a name? The reason I chose the name Acceptance Therapy was because it is about recognizing change you need to make. Its ok to ACCEPT change is possible. Its ok to ACCEPT I need to change but I am not ready to take that next step. Its ok to ACCEPT I can do better and I am struggling to go down a scary path of the unknown but I need help. Learning what you can do and what I can learn to achieve is half the battle. Recognizing your own strengths and learning how to accept that I can do this and we are hear to help you.
I have had extensive history of working with individuals heal from trauma. A lot of individuals main struggle with the hold it in, they do not want to to share the pain they want to go through. There are approaches of letting it go but not reliving the trauma. Know one wants to remember times that were incredibly hard and you were unsure after the event on how to handle it. Recognizing a therapist can guide you to let go of what you are going through and how you can handle the past to have a better, brighter future is our goal, as a therapist.
My goal is always to help you make sense of what you experienced and help you untangle the “mess” that was left. I am hoping to help you recognize that due to someone else’s behaviors that have caused you to react a certain way, does not need to be how you feel every time you are struggling with a situation. When someone that may of been trying to control you in the past and you now are struggling with future relationships, I am here to help. When someone was telling you how to dress, act, eat, do things for them and now you cannot do things for yourself, I can help. When you are struggling to make sense of being gaslit by others and someone wants you to believe you are the problem or you feel as though you are not good enough for another person, I am here to guide you.
Recognizing you do not have to ACCEPT this behavior from others and you can ACCEPT a new future and a better outlook on your life is a huge step. Realizing that others are here to help and want you to succeed and they want to help you learn how you can have the future you deserve.
